Interzero replaces single-use cardboard boxes with reusable boxes

Interzero

Reusable packaging in a closed packaging loop

Interzero, one of the leading service providers for closing product, material and logistics loops, uses reusable boxes from the Munich start-up hey circle in order to reduce waste and save CO2 emissions in parcel shipping.

Every year, the circular economy service provider Interzero refurbishes around 300,000 used IT and communication devices to give them a new life. Since the beginning of 2023, Interzero has been using hey circle's reusable shipping boxes for the take-back and dispatch of smartphones, tablets and hard drives.

Shipping without single-use cardboard: reuse saves resources

Interzero organises every step of the refurbishment process, from purchase through to reuse. Using the hey circle reusable shipping solution saves further resources. The company's major customers praise the boxes for their environmental benefits and their sturdiness.

The hey circle Box L and Box XL are in use, with their patented folding mechanism and a fully closed body with theft protection. The boxes are designed for 50 cycles, have been tested to a stacking pressure of 150 kg and can be loaded with up to 12 and 15 kg respectively. The CO₂ saving was determined by the independent environmental consultancy Ökopol.

At Interzero we pursue the vision of a world without waste. To put this vision into practice in the logistics processes of our IT remarketing activities as well, the reusable shipping boxes from hey circle are a sustainable and future-proof option.

Jan Höschel, Managing Director of Interzero Product Cycle GmbH

“Saving resources and reducing CO₂ emissions - that is exactly the approach that connects Interzero and hey circle. Choosing reuse is not only good for the environmental balance sheet - depending on the case, it can also save costs and create a marketing effect. In the end, everyone wins,” is how Doris Diebold, Managing Director of hey circle, describes the partnership.

The shared goal: shipping without single-use cardboard.
