Reusable shipping packaging for the IT & electronics lifecycle

IT & electronics lifecycle

Whether it is a refurbished smartphone, a faulty school tablet or a returned leasing fleet - in the IT & electronics lifecycle, devices are constantly on the move.

With the reusable shipping boxes from hey circle you send them securely, traceably and without piles of cardboard - packaging that runs in a loop just like your devices.

94 % less packaging waste
76 % less CO2
53 % lower packaging costs
50 cycles per packaging on average

Box L compared with a single-use cardboard box of the same size containing 80 % recycled material, calculated over 50 cycles. Data source: Ökopol life cycle assessment. The 53 % are an average from real customer calculations.

How the loop works

Instead of packing a new cardboard box for every shipment, you use a dimensionally stable hey circle box that runs again and again - on average for 50 cycles.

How tight the loop becomes depends on your business model: with refurbishment including return shipping, the box travels in both directions; in a swap model the replacement device goes out and the faulty device comes back. With a one-off leasing take-back it is more about the bundled collection of large volumes - economically worthwhile above all for large rollouts.

  • Pack & close

    • Place the device safely padded inside the box
    • Close the box all round with the zip or lid for tamper-evident protection
    • For sensitive data: secure the shipment with an additional security seal
  • Ship

    • Stick the shipping label onto the label holder
    • Hand the parcel over to your parcel carrier as usual - without a surcharge
    • hey circle is carried by all major parcel carriers
  • Return

    • The box comes back - with the refurbished device or bundled and folded flat as empties
    • Peel off the old label without residue and stick on the new one
    • Fold the box flat or fill it again straight away - no single-use cardboard box, no filling material
  • A loop that reaches the packaging

If you refurbish, remarket or take back devices, you already live the loop. Single-use packaging breaks with that story - a reusable box sees it through to the end.

  • Protection for electronics

Displays, circuit boards and precision technology cannot cope with yet another cardboard box. Dimensionally stable boxes are tested with up to 400 kg stacking load and in a drop test from 80 cm.

  • Data protection

Devices may be in transit before their data has been fully erased. Lockable, sealable boxes make transport a compliance topic too.

  • 3 x savings

On average 53 % lower packaging costs - and the more often a box runs, the clearer the effect compared with single-use.

  • Regulation

The PPWR has applied since 12 August 2026. From 2030 it sets reuse targets for certain transport packaging such as plastic crates and pallets; boxes made of cardboard or paperboard are exempt. Whether your shipping is affected depends on format and supply relationship - we are happy to check this with you.
