Frank Dental is a family business based in Gmund am Tegernsee, Bavaria, specializing in the manufacture and worldwide distribution of rotating instruments for dentists, dental laboratories, and dental technicians. Existing and new customers can not only view the high-quality portfolio in the catalog, but also receive tool kits for various applications for two weeks on approval. The special tools remain in a closed loop and are then returned to Frank Dental. Previously, the disposable cardboard boxes used for delivery generated waste with each cycle. However, the family-run manufacturer actually strives to use resources as sustainably as possible.

Reusable box is a sustainable solution in a closed loop

Anja Frank, a member of the management board and responsible for marketing and controlling, had therefore been looking for a solution for a long time that was sustainable and met the requirements for product safety and pragmatism. Her contact person at DHL drew her attention to the robust hey circle reusable shipping solutions.

The folded hey circle box is a bit thicker in storage than a conventional disposable carton, which is due to the zipper and the folding. However, setting up the box is easy and does not take any extra time. For example, you don't have to apply tape to the top and bottom first. So, it's easy to handle.

Impact of the reusable box is measurable

Every sample case from Frank Dental is sent 12 times a year to dental laboratories, dental technicians, dentists, orthodontists, and oral and maxillofacial surgeons. After about two weeks, they are returned and prepared for the next customer. The high circulation rate of the case and reusable box is good for the climate balance. With the hey circle Box L, over 50 cycles can save 76% CO2 and 94% waste compared to single-use cardboard.

"For starters, we're using 50 L- and 10 XL-boxes; these are ideal for customers who order two or three different assortments for viewing. But if you look at our own growth forecast, we'll probably need even more soon."
